Rivercroft Counselling

About me

I am a Person Centred / Humanistic Counsellor with over fourteen years counselling experience. In the past I have worked as a counsellor for the national charity MIND and an NHS hospital bereavement service. I have several years' experience working in the addiction field. I currently provide a health monitoring and counselling service to a large organisation within the public sector. I can offer counselling on either a short term basis, or I can offer longer term therapy where indicated. I am led by the client's needs and work at a pace which is most appropriate for them. I see the therapeutic relationship as central to the counselling work. I am particularly interested in how the past affects the present and believe that understanding this at a deeper level can empower individuals to lead a more fulfilling life. I work with adults on a one to one basis. Face to face counselling sessions take place on a weekly basis lasting for a duration of 50 minutes. My private consulting room is situated in Spetisbury near Blandford Forum, in a tranquil setting on the River Stour.
Issues that I work with include:

Bereavement and loss

Bipolar Disorder

Gambling / Gaming addiction

Gender and issues around sexuality

Low self esteem

Relationship difficulties

Suicidal thoughts

Work related stress, including bullying in the workplace
